A message from your Commander

Greeting Comrades,
Last call for the Bricks of Honor fundraiser. I’ll be honest, I was hoping for more support for this program. I’m asking ALL members support on this! If you can’t afford a brick, find someone who can. This is to honor and remembrance for all Veterans. Proceeds will ensure OUR post remains for many years to come. You do care about this post? Right?
I’ve been busy acting as Nurse Aaron for the last month; do to some medical issues with Jessica my wife. We thank you for all of the prayers, positive thoughts and well wishes. She is recovering at home now, and looking forward to enjoying some sunshine in our backyard.
It’s funny how something like a medical issue puts everything into perspective. However, during my time sitting in the hospital with my wife, I could not but feel worried about the club, and how my absence during Bingos, fish fry, and everything else I volunteer for would be covered. We need YOUR help. It’s that simple, we have plenty of members to do the work to keep our club running, but I never see most actually show up. We NEED “boots on the ground”. Sign up, help your club, help your fellow members, help your community.
Most respectfully,
Aaron Heusinkveld
Commander

A message from your Auxiliary President

Hello to you all.
Now I know it is the end of summer – the fair starts this week. Unbelievable! I hope everyone is having a good summer so far. The garden that I planted is producing lots of good things to eat. There is nothing better than a BLT with fresh lettuce and tomato’s from the garden, or creamed cucumbers over grilled potatoes. Yum Yum.
I am so happy that my mother is feeling so much better because she has been able to keep the garden weeded. That is a job I would have not enjoyed.
Again a reminder about the upcoming Volunteer dinner and Customer appreciation day on 9/11/2016. Volunteers please sign up so that we have a count for the sit down meal. Thanks to all of you that volunteer. Without you there would be lots that we could not do. Thanks to our Customers without them we would not have a place for our volunteers. Funny how things work hand in hand.
Get well wishes to all that are ill and heartfelt condolences to those who have lost a loved one.
